More and more law enforcement agencies are utilizing social media, like Facebook, to spread the word on active investigations.
On Tuesday, Oregon Police used its Facebook page to poke fun at themselves on a recent call.
The post reads, "Police were able to stop these two just before they ran onto Corduroy Rd. by Lallendorf. We all know the amount of traffic on that road and a serious accident could have been caused had they ran across. I'm posting these to bring levity. Nothing says news should always be bad and there is nothing wrong with having a sense of humor. Gotta wonder what people thought as they drove by."
The caption of one photo even says "Be nice" showing their awareness that a photo of a police officer leading a donkey down the road might solicit some inappropriate comments.
