The Ottawa County Sheriff has suspended his teamâ??s search for two missing boaters on Lake Erie. Officials say itâ??s unlikely anyone could survive this long in the lakeâ??s frigid temperatures.

Bryan Huff of Rossford and Andrew Rose of Maumee remain missing. Search teams found the bodies of Amy Santus, 33, of Perrysburg Township, and her niece, Paige Widmer, 17, who was visiting from out of state.

Water vessels from the Sheriffâ??s office and Ohioâ??s Division of Watercraft scanned the surface of the water Friday. The search was suspended at 4 p.m.

â??With the boats that are out there, the boats that weâ??ve had out there, the aircraft out there yesterday, we still felt that we owed it to the family to try today for recovery efforts,â?? Ottawa County Sheriff S.J. Levorchick said Friday morning. â??But beyond this we believe it would be pretty futile.â??

Ottawa Countyâ??s dive team wasnâ??t utilized Friday because they didnâ??t have any specific location to dive into. On Thursday, the team dove into the area surrounding the partially submerged boat.

Ohioâ??s Division of Watercraft continued their search beneath the surface Friday. They used sonar technology to look for the two remaining boaters.

The county sheriff is asking boaters to keep an eye out for any evidence in the water and let his office know if anything is seen.

The Division of Watercraft will continue their search Saturday morning. They plan to send a boat onto the lake around 8 a.m.
