Owens Community College is having their Landscape and Turfgrass Crew Club's annual Fall Plant Sale on September 21. This sale is an opportunity for Northwest Ohio residents to purchase a wide selection of shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses and rare trees.
All the proceeds from the plant sale will help Owens students participate in PLANET (Professional Landcare Networks) Student Career Days, which is a national horticultural and landscape competition in Manhattan, Kansas.
The shrubs on sale for the event include Blue False Spirea, Dwarf Oakleaf Hydrangea and a wide assortment of others. There are over 30 different types of trees and evergreens including Japanese Striped-bark Maple, Red Buckeye and Colorado Spruce. Owens has a full list of all the plants available.
"The Owens Community College Landscape and Turfgrass Crew Club student organization is excited to once again offer individuals the opportunity to purchase select trees and shrubs at a minimal cost for the upcoming fall plant season," said Chris Foley, Owens Associate Professor of Science.
The sale lasts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
