Packaging meals to save lives

Packaging meals

The Rotary Club of Toledo partnered with ISOH/Impactâ??s Kids Against Hunger ministry, along with volunteers, packaged rice pilaf meals for people suffering from disasters and hunger in the United States and around the world.

Lori Kazierczak, Executive Director of Operations at ISOH/Impact mentioned how the meal will help those in need. â??Hunger is the number one reason for death and illness in the world, so if we can assist that in any way, then that is our goal,â?? she said.

Each meal contains 4 components â?? rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and mineral seasoning flavor. The meals are weighed for consistency, so each meal weighs the same, then sealed and packed for transport.

Today 15,000 meals were packed. The meals are processed food so they can be sent anywhere in the world.

â??What we are doing here today will assist where ever and whenever there is a need for food,â?? Kazierczak said.
