The Springfield Local School District has eliminated their high school bus service, and some parents say the move is creating traffic jams before and after school. School officials decided to discontinue high school bus transportation to save money after a levy failed this summer.

Matt Geha is an administrator with Springfield Local Schools. He says school employees have been in the parking lot helping ease traffic flow each school day. School officials also released a map instructing parents where and how to drop their kids off, and they called in law enforcement to help direct traffic.

â??Even though in our eyes itâ??s gone well, there have been parental concerns about the amount of time it take to drop their child off and pick them up, but I think that will only improve every single day,â?? Geha said.

Geha says the cuts to transportation will save the school district roughly $200,000 this year. Bus transportation is still available for Kindergarten through grade 8.
