Perrysburg officials want to move forward with a plan that could link residents to Bowling Greenâ??s water supply in emergency situations.

City council voted 6-1 this week to apply for a state grant that would fund a study of the potential project. The study will determine whether the project is feasible.

Councilman Todd Grayson voted against the grant application, but only because he thinks city funding will move the process along faster.

â??This would allow us during emergency situations to turn off that valve, and turn on the valve from Bowling Green and have emergency water backup,â?? Grayson said.

Bowling Green residents get their water from the Maumee River.
