Residents in Perrysburg are back on the grid after reporting power was lost to much of the city Thursday afternoon.

According to FirstEnergy's website, over 10,000 customers in Wood County were without electricity as of about 3 p.m. The company said they were investigating the outages but determined them to be caused by a transmission line that stopped working.

A Facebook user told WNWO that a loud 'explosion' was heard at a power substation at Route 25 and Five Points Road around the time of the outage.

Power was restored to most customers in Perrysburg, Perrysburg Township, Bowling Green, and other parts of the county around 4 p.m.

Viewers reported traffic lights and businesses along Rte. 20 were without power. Levis Commons and First Solar, on opposite ends of the city, were also without affected.

As of 4:30 p.m., some businesses and residences in the area of Levis Commons remain without power.
