Perrysburg looking into Bowling Green water while awaiting TAWA discussions
PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WNWO) —
The city of Perrysburg is looking at its options for water if the Toledo Area Water Authority doesn't work.
City council voted five to two to enter into an agreement with Maumee and the Northwestern Water and Sewer District.
That partnership says all three will pay up to $25,000 to cover the cost of a study into Bowling Green's water supply.
"We still all believe regionalism is the best possible solution, but until Toledo takes any formal action, we also have to make sure that we're doing what's in the best interest for the city of Perrysburg and for Northern Wood County. So it makes sense to talk to other sources and see what the price of water is from potential other third parties," said Mayor Tom Makin.
Maumee and Northwestern Water have not yet voted on the agreement.
