PHOTO: Semi accident creates traffic nightmare on I-475 in Toledo

I-475 N was at a standstill for over an hour Thursday night.

Dozens of other drivers are at a standstill, as I-475 northbound shuts down after a semi truck slid off the road.

It happened in between exits 6 and 8 after Salisbury Road near Manley Road.

Officials say the driver did not appear to be seriously injured, but did cause damage to a guardrail.

After sitting in traffic for nearly an hour, just after 9:30, authorities started to re-route traffic that was already backed up.

Drivers were directed to use an on-ramp to get off the interstate because there were no other options.

According to ODOT, drivers should avoid the area until around 3 a.m. on Friday.
