The Toledo Zoo's major renovation of its Aquarium has reached another milestone.

The 90,000 gallon Pacific Reef tank, which will be the largest tank in the renovated Aquarium, is now full of water.

On Monday, crews began checking the Aquarium tanks for leaks and structural issues to ensure that they meet strict engineering requirements.

Construction on the new aquarium should be complete by the summer, but it will take another nine months for the fish and other marine life to be added.

The aquarium will be open to the public sometime in 2015.

This year, the Toledo Zoo was named second in the country in a top ten list for best Zoo's and Aquariums.
