Pizza shop targeted in armed robbery, Masked suspects at-large

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery at Mary Sacco's Pizza, in Newport, on Sunday night.

Investigators say two suspects entered the restaurant, located at 3132 Newport Road, just before 8:00 p.m.

Once inside, one of the men went to the back kitchen area and ordered three of four employees to the ground while holding a knife.

The other robber stayed at the front counter, with the fourth employee, and ordered him to hand over the cash from two register drawers.

The suspects were last seen fleeing in a vehicle driving towards I-75 .

One of the robbers is described as being of medium height, having a thin build, and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with a camouflage cloth covering his face.

The other suspect had a heavier build, was wearing a hoodie and had a red cloth covering his face.

Both men are described as being in their twenties.

None of the employees were injured during the robbery.
