A vacant Toledo hotel took a step closer to being demolished on Tuesday.
Toledo's City Council voted unanimously to acquire the 11-floor Clarion on Reynolds Road.
The proposal was first made in the hopes of attracting new businesses to the area.
Mayor Mike Collins has told WNWO that there has already been interest in a nearby K-mart.
The party, however, said they would only move into the area under the condition the hotel was demolished.
Tearing down the Clarion will cost the city around $800,000.
