Police say they have identified a body found inside a north Toledo garage in July to be that of a man reported missing back in January.
Autopsy results indicate Zak Burton, 24, had been shot before his body was found inside a garage at 2713 Buckeye St. The heavily decomposed body was discovered July 10 by a former resident of the abandoned property, according to police.
Burton was reported missing by the mother of his children, a six-year-old daughter and two-month-old son, in January. The woman said she had not seen or heard from Burton since May of last year. She told police he had a history of leaving the home for a month at a time, but never missed calling his daughter each week. She reported him missing on Jan. 28 of this year.
Police say their investigation into this case continues.
