Authorities have identified the remains of a body recovered last week in French Township off I-75 after a hunter discovered her body.
Michigan State Police recovered the remains of 56-year-old Janet Lennen who was reported missing Oct. 3 according to Flat Rock Police.
Officials told WNWO upon initial investigation that the body appeared to have been undisturbed, left there weeks ago. Authorities then used her fingerprints to confirmed her identity.
Last week, a hunter called 911 after discovering what he thought to look like feet.
"He didn't get much closer than that, and made the 911 call. Then our troops were dispatched," said Michigan State Police Officer Tony Cuevas.

Officials are investigating this incident as a homicide.
Medical examiners have not yet determined the the cause of death.
