ATHENS, Ohio (AP) - Campus police have found no evidence of a shooting at Ohio University after a report of a possible threat.
University spokeswoman Jennifer Krisch says authorities have given the school the "all clear" after the Tuesday afternoon report.
Police initially focused on Gamertsfelder Hall, which houses summer session students. They later expanded their search throughout the school's East Green, which had been evacuated.
The university says the East Green has been reopened for normal use.
It wasn't immediately clear where the report of the possible shooting originated.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Athens police assisted in what city Police Chief Thomas Pyle called "an alleged shooting." A Highway Patrol spokesman says troopers were sent after school police requested help.
The campus is about 65 miles southeast of Columbus.
