Popular Maumee bar employee injured in hit-skip crash

Police are searching for a man they say struck a bicyclist with his sports car in Maumee Tuesday afternoon then took off.
Maumee Police continue to investigate the hit-skip crash that occurred around 3:25 p.m. at the corner of Conant St. and Dudley St. in downtown Maumee.
According to police, Thomas "Sully" Sullivan, 57, of Maumee was riding a bicycle in the crosswalk of the intersection when he was struck by a sports car turning north bound onto Conant from east bound W. Dudley. A witness told police the vehicle continued north on Conant without stopping.
Sully, who is a longtime Maumee resident and popular manager at the Village Idiot, was transported to a local hospital where co-workers say he is recovering from broken bones.
The vehicle is described as a black 1997 or newer C5 or C6 body style Chevrolet Corvette. The driver of the vehicle is described as a small in stature white male with brown hair and a beard.

UPDATE (July 10): Maumee Police now say the vehicle suspected in the hit-skip crash was a gray, newer model Toyota.
