Power outage in downtown Toledo after tree removal company hits electric line

Some downtown Toledo residents were without power Wednesday morning after an electrical line was cut, according to Toledo Edison.

Around 1,280 customers in the area of Cherry Street and Water Street lost power around 7:30 a.m.

According to a Toledo Edison spokesperson, a private tree company took down a tree that hit an electrical line, leading to the power outage.

As of 9:30 a.m., power was restored to over 80% of customers who lost electricity. The remaining 169 customers should have power restored by 11 a.m.


UPDATE: As of 10:25 a.m., all power was restored to customers affected by the outage, according to a Toledo Edison spokesperson.
