Port Clinton Schools D
istrict placed its schools on lockdown Tuesday after a bomb threat was made at the high school.
The threat was later determined to be a prank. Superintendent of Patrick Adkins said police received a call around 9:30 a.m. of a bomb being delivered to the high school at 10 a.m.
The high school was quickly evacuated as police and fire officials rushed to the scene. Officials determined it was a hoax an hour later.
Port Clinton Schools Community Director Jan Gluth said the high school is being searched as a precautionary measure. Lockdowns on other buildings have been removed.
Classes are expected to resume for the rest of the day.
Schools officials say parents should pick up their children at normal dismissal time.
