Family, friends and the Central Toledo community came out on Tuesday night to pay tribute to a young boy whose life was cut short this week.

The body of 9-year-old Devaunte Roddy-O'Neil was found early Monday morning at the railroad tracks near the Castle Boulevard dead end just west of Maplewood Avenue.

Just a day after his tragic death, the New Order National Human Rights Organization held a prayer vigil in front of Glenwood Elementary.

Roddy-O TMNeil was a third grade student at the school before his death.

Devaunte loved family, he was very very smart|he loved life| [he was] very upbeat. Devaunte TMs mother Danita Roddy said.

A memorial fund has been sent up in Devaunte's name at the Jeep Federal Credit union for anyone who would like to make a donation.
