roMedica has broken ground on a new health and wellness center at Sylvania's Starlite Shopping Plaza.
The new, three-story 230,000-square-foot facility will house a wide range of medical services all under one roof.
Sylvania city leaders, along with ProMedica officials, held a groundbreaking ceremony at the 5700 Monroe Street location on Wednesday evening.
Patients in the region will have access to primary care and specialty physicians, radiology and laboratory services, as well as a pharmacy counter.
The facility will also include optical services, wellness services, a community gathering space for educational sessions, and ProMedica AfterHours.
Construction on the $45 million project is expected to be complete in early 2016.
