Red Cross opens warming shelters during arctic blast

With subzero temperatures and wind chill advisories in effect for all of northwest Ohio, the Red Cross is making sure everyone has a chance to stay warm.

The American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio will open warming shelters at three different Toledo locations Monday.

Shelters will be opened at UAW Local 12, 2300 Ashland; East Toledo Family Center, 1020 Varland; and the Margaret Hunt Senior Center, 2121 Garden Lake Parkway.

All shelters will open at 5 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to stay below zero through Tuesday. A wind chill advisory is in effect for feels like temperatures as low as 40 below zero.
