Relatives ask why deputies shot, killed Ohio man

FREMONT, Ohio (AP) - Sheriff's deputies shot and killed a Fremont man after relatives told police he was making homicidal and suicidal threats.

Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmyer says the deputies went inside a house near Fremont and shot 26-year-old Bryan Jones after he pointed a weapon at them on Sunday.

Overmyer says he felt the deputies took appropriate action. But Jones' family wants answers.

The victim's aunt says she was outside the house and heard Jones yell "Why?" after a single gunshot. She says she then heard more shots.

Family members said Jones had been drinking earlier in the day and had been depressed about being out of work for the last eight months.
