Nearly one year after the murder of Nevaeh Bunchanan, friends and family gather to remember her life. Justice for Nevaeh is hosting an event in her honor. In addition to the games and activities for kids, there were booths set up to provide parents with information on how to keep kids safe.
Event organizer Risa Thompson has been working to make sure people don TMt forget Nevaeh. Keeping her name out there, memorializing it, I TMm hoping it TMs going to help the next child.
Nevaeh TMs grandmother, Carla Elliotte it helps to have continued support from the community, I guess the pain will never go away but it helps with some of the healing.
Sherry Bunchanan remembers her granddaughter as a loving little girl who loved life. I feel like if I would TMve seen her grow up I would TMve been the happiest grandmother there was, Sherry.
The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest. Justice for Nevaeh has raised a $1,500 reward of its own for any tipster who wishes to remain completely anonymous.
A remembrance of Nevaeh Bunchanan TMs life will take place at The Moose Lodge in Macomb at 1320 Macomb St. from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There will be food, games and information for parents about how to keep kids safe. All the money raised from the raffles will go towards a Nevaeh Buchanan scholarship fund.
