ecent revelations about delays in care at the nation's veterans' affairs clinics are at the center of listening sessions being held by Congressman Bob Latta.
Ohio's Fifth Congressional District representative spoke to veterans in Perrysburg Tuesday morning. The meeting was one of three being held by Rep. Latta in northwest Ohio Tuesday.
Rep. Latta said the events provide him the opportunity to hear veterans' concerns and experiences with the VA, as well as any other issues they may be experiencing.
"Recent revelations about the VA's mishandling of veterans' care are absolutely unacceptable," said Latta. "We owe our veterans an enormous debt of gratitude, and we must do everything in our power to ensure they receive the care they have earned in service to our country. This situation demands immediate attention, and these listening sessions will provide an opportunity for me to hear from our veterans about the issues they're having with the VA, so we can rectify them as quickly as possible."
The events are being held in Perrysburg at the American Legion Post #28, in Findlay at the American Legion Post #3 from 11 a.m.- Noon, and in Defiance at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3360 from 2-3 p.m.
Staff will be on-hand at Tuesday's events to assist veterans with casework.
