The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, based in Cleveland, Ohio, announced its list of 2012 inductees Wednesday. The list that includes some surprises...and omits some acts that many think are more deserving.

The 2012 inductees include: Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Small Faces (later becoming just the Faces), Blues pioneer Freddie King and 60s pop singers Laura Nyro and Donovan.

Nominees that got passed over for this year include British Goth rockers The Cure, hard rocker Joan Jett, War, The Spinners, Heart and hip-hop duo Eric B. & Rakim.

Acts become eligible for the Rock HOF 25 years after the release of the their first single or this years nominees all started releasing music in or before 1986.

The Class of 2012 will be officially induced on April 14th of next year during a ceremony at the Rock Hall in Cleveland.

Buzz has already started around the possibility of a Guns N' Roses original lead singer Axl Rose splintered from the group after only 10 years over conflicts with band mates over the direction their music was going in.

Original Guns drummer Steven Adler told Rolling Stone, "I always knew it was going to happen, just like when the band first started. I always knew that we were going to be successful and accomplish and succeed at our dreams. There was never a doubt in my mind. When we were recording Appetite For Destruction, we all knew."

When asked about the possibility of a reunion, Adler added, "If the Police could do a reunion|One of the biggest jerks I ever met was Sting. If he can do it, then anyone can do it. It's not that big a deal. And the Eagles! They did it! They severely hated each other. It's just rock and roll."

Each year's list seems to touch of a recurring debate...who should be in the Rock HOF that isn't? Seemingly seminal acts like Kiss, Rush and Humble Pie have yet to get the well as artists like Peter Frampton, Donna Summer and Chubby Checker. And so we ask you...what band or artist is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that should be? And who is currently in the Rock HOF that you think shouldn't be?
