The Target store on Monroe Street was full of K-12 students today eager to shop until they drop.
The Salvation Army received a $1 million donation to fund a back-to-school shopping spree across the nation.
Here in Northwest Ohio, 30 lucky students were chosen to participate and each given a Target gift card with $81. Officials from the Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio say that this program not only helps these students but also their families.
Salvation Army Captain Tawny Cowen-Zanders says, â??There are far more than 30 children in need throughout Northwest Ohio but we justâ?¦tried to pick children that we thought would be best for this opportunity.â??
Nearly 500 Target locations will participate in the Target School Spree between July 15 and August 15.
