Helping kids get ready for school

The Salvation Army was lending a helping hand to students getting ready to head back to school today.The agency is now accepting applications for backpacks and school supply assistance.

The Salvation Army says that programs like this one are needed to make sure that every child in our area starts their school year prepared. The Salvation Army will be accepting applications again tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at their headquarters on North Erie Street.

You will need to bring identification, social security card, proof of address, proof of income and birth certificate if youâ??re interested in receiving the donations.
