Sandusky hospital settles lawsuit over fetuses in jars

A Sandusky hospital has reached a settlement with women who say an employee stuffed miscarried or stillborn fetuses into jars instead of properly disposing of them.

Firelands Community Hospital is going to pay these women about $1 million. The women filed a class action lawsuit complaining about how the hospital disposed of their fetuses.

A former Firelands employee placed 88 fetuses in jars between 19-88 and 19-96. She told the hospital she kept them for religious reasons but it turns out she was working with a pathologist to use them for teaching purposes.
