Santorum gets laughs during visit to Perrysburg

Rick Santorum speaks to supporters in Perrysburg.

The focus may have been on the Michigan primary, on Tuesday, but already Rick Santorum was looking ahead to another big contest in the race for the White House.

The former Pennsylvania Senator made an appearance at the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg during a "Rally for Rick" just before noon.

Santorum was introduced by supporter and Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.

Also in attendance, Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher who is known to many as Joe the Plumber and is running for U.S. Congress in the state's 9th District.

Neither of the familiar faces, however, could steal the spotlight from Santorum who made the crowd laugh while also talking about more serious issues.

"Do we really want to look at our children and grandchildren some years down the road if things don't go as they need to go and try and explain to them what you were doing when our freedom was lost," Santorum asked the crowd.

Santorum urged his supporters to get out over the next week, before the Ohio Primary, and get involved in the political process.
