Save money, make your own laundry detergent

With the economy being what it is, frugal folks are finding ways to save money. And they are coming up with some creative ways to do it.

One consumer site geared toward pennywise moms has come up with a way to make your own laundry detergent at home using easily found products. And the process of making it is really quite simple.

The site says they calculate the standard store-bought detergent as costing as much as 52 cents per load of laundry. Their simple solution comes in at around one cent per load ... an astonishing 50 times cheaper.

And if you want to share your batch with friends, or split it up and add different scents, there are tips in the article that explain how to do that too.

Here is the link to the detergent recipe...and a link to other great ideas on the main "dollarstoremom" website.
