Police in Bowling Green continue their search for a woman they say tried to kidnap a child Monday afternoon.

An investigation into the attempted abduction continues as authorities release information on the suspect. They say a heavy-set woman with a buzzed haircut tried to grab a girl walking north on South Church Street around 4 p.m. Monday.

The child was able to get away unharmed after the suspect reportedly opened a front-door of the vehicle and said, "Come, get in."

Bowling Green Police described the suspect as a white female, possibly in her mid-thirties. She may have been driving an older, gray-colored, four-door sedan. The vehicle may be a 1988 Oldsmobile.
