Second suspect held on $1M bond in murder of Michigan man

n east Toledo man police say killed a Michigan man appeared in a Toledo court Friday after spending two weeks in an Indiana jail.

36-year-old Robert Strauss is being held on $1 million bond. He and his wife, 36-year-old Desirae Strauss, are charged in the murder of 52-year-old Brian Martin.

Police say the couple bludgeoned the Yspilanti man to death inside their 2140 Consaul Street home on or around June 22.

Martin's body has yet to be located; however, police believe it may be in a barn or shed somewhere between Toledo and Anderson, Ind.

Missing Michigan man may be in Toledo-area

Toledo Police issued a plea for information in the case in early July after Ypsilanti police reported Martin missing. Authorities suggested Martin had been in a relationship with a married Toledo woman. That woman is now believed to be Desirae Strauss.

Police in Indiana arrested the couple in early July on unrelated charges.

Robert Strauss will be in court again on July 28.
