Second vacant home up in flames Monday morning

Crews are investigating two vacant house fires and suspect them as acts of arson.

Toledo Firefighters were called out to a second house fire in east Toledo.

It happened around 4:40 a.m. Monday in the block of 1228 Oak Street. The fire broke out a few hours earlier than another house fire at 1224 Dawson.

Authorities said the vacant home was up in flames and have called a building inspector to decide if it will be torn down.

As of 6 a.m., more flames emerged from the house. Investigators have determined these were acts of arson and will investigate if these houses are related. Officials suspect arson as the house had been empty for about five years without any electricity.
