Head-aches for commuters caused by construction on Secor Road have subsided, and local businesses welcomed customers back at a block party on Saturday.
The sea of orange barrels is gone, and Secor Road now boasts new pavement, sidewalks, curbs, traffic lights, and an updated water line. Construction lasted between April and July, and Secor Rd. businesses like Uncle Johnâ??s Pancake House are ecstatic itâ??s finished.
â??Business has picked up again, the road looks great,â?? said Sal Tubeileh, owner of Uncle Johnâ??s. He added, â??If you look at it down the highway you see how nice it is.â??
The Secor Open Road Party boasted a Halloween costume contest, amusement rides, good food, and even a cornhole tournament with prizes.
The evening concluded with a performance from country music star Josh Thompson, known for hit songs such as â??Way Out Here,â?? and â??Cold Beer With Your Name on It.â??
