Severe Storms Batter NW Ohio

Wauseon Police are reporting lots of damage caused by a severe storm that swept through Fulton County around 4:30 p.m.

Asst. Police Chief Bill McConnell tells NBC 24 there is a fire sparked by downed lines at 123 Commercial Street, near the railroad tracks. Wauseon Fire was assisted by the Morenci Fire Department.

McConnell also reports big tree limbs fell onto at least three vehicles at a home on the corner of West Elm and Brunell Street.

Other damage is reported throughout the city. Public Works employees are out fixing the problems.

A barn fire was also reported just outside Napoleon this afternoon. The flames tore through the structure at 637 County Road 16, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office and Napoleon Police.

Tiffin Police also report scattered damage in that city. Poles and lines were reported down at the intersection of Circular and South Washington.
