Willard Wigfield, 32, fled officials after pleading guilty to raping a child.

A Lake County man is on the run after he pled guilty to raping a child under the age of 15.

32-year-old Willard Wigfield of Massillon was charged of raping a child following an investigation by the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department. Wingfield was on bond and had to wear a electronic monitoring device. When Wingfield failed to attend his sentencing Monday, July 8, authorities discovered Wigfield fled the area, when his ankle monitoring showed signals from New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Investigators found several people helping him escape and followed a lead that located him in Orlando, Fla. That's when authorities found 33-year-old Robert Mahaffey of New Philadelphia, Ohio whom Florida authorities arrested for assisting Wigfield's escape. Mahaffey is being held in Osceola County Jail on the first degree felony charge of accessory.

Wigfield's sister, Stephanie Smith, 28, of Coshocton, Ohio rented a car for him that was found in the Florida hotel. The Coshocton County Sheriff and Prosecutor arrested Smith, who faces charges of obstruction of justice, a third degree felony. Smith is currently being held in the Coshocton County Jail.

Wigfield is described as a white male, standing 5??07??, weighing approximately 190 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Wigfield is known to spend almost all of his free time at locations frequented by children such as skating rinks, playgrounds, and swimming pools.
