A police station outside of Detroit is now a crime scene after a shootout this afternoon left a suspect dead and one officer wounded.
P olice say a 64-year-old man entered police headquarters in Southfield, pointed a handgun at an officer behind protective glass, and pulled the trigger. The gun didn't fire.
O fficers ordered the gunman to drop the gun, but he refused, instead pointing it at them. Shots were exchanged, and one officer was hit in the shoulder. The gunman was hit multiple times and later died at the hospital.
