Slain Sandusky family to be buried Thursday

Five days after the bodies of 23-year-old Heather Jackson, her daughter Cecilia and son Wayne were found strangled to death inside their home Sandusky residents continue to express their grief. On Wednesday, people brought teddy bears and placed them next to the dozens of teddy bears and mementos that adorn the front of the home. Next door neighbor Leah Holman is still in shock at what happened inside the house right next to hers. "It's crazy, that a woman and her two kids, right next door to us and we didn't hear a thing," Ms. Holman said.

On Monday, Sandusky police arrested 41-year-old Curtis Clinton and charged him with 3 counts of murder. Clinton, a Sandusky native, was released from prison this past February after serving more than 12 years in prison on an involuntary manslaughter conviction. Clinton pled to that charge which stemmed from the death of a Fostoria teenager. Brenda Jordan, a cousin of Heather Jackson, says the criminal justice system failed Heather and her two children. "I don't know how he ever got out in the first place, because he wasn't rehabilitated evidently," Ms. Jordan said.

Clinton is being held on a $3.25 million bond in the Erie County Jail. A viewing for Jackson and her children will be held from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Northpointe Baptist Church.
