South Toledo house fire also scene of fatal 2009 shooting

Fire crews have contained a fire at a home in South Toledo that was also the site of a fatal shooting three years ago.

Toledo police tell our reporter that the people who live in 659 Congress Street were not there when the blaze started. A neighbor called to report the fire at the front of the house around 3:30 a.m.

In 2009, the owner of this house, 47-year-old Ricardo Soria, was found lying outside on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at the hospital from his injuries.

Toledo police are still investigating the cause of the fire. No one was hurt in the incident.
