Southview students arrested, accused of raping girl at park

Two Southview High School students arrested for rape.

Two Sylvania Southview High School students have been arrested after the alleged rape of a fellow student at Olander Park.

According to a Sylvania Police report, a 15-year-old girl reported the incident to police minutes after it is alleged to have occurred Monday afternoon. The report states that the girl was forced to engage in sexual activity at the park, which is located on Sylvania Ave., across the street from Southview High School.

Two male students, ages 17 and 14, were taken into custody at the high school on Tuesday afternoon. Both have been charged in Lucas County Juvenile court with one count of rape each.

Police collected evidence from the victim and suspects, including clothing and a cell phone.

Sylvania Police say they have no comment on the incident at this time as an investigation continues. is withholding the names of the victim and the boys arrested due to the nature of the alleged crime and the fact that they are all juveniles.
