Two deserving Springfield High School students were honored with Youth Jefferson Awards Thursday.
The awards are given to those who have gone above and beyond in community service.
Would-be freshman Aly Courville died of heart disease this summer but not before making significant contributions to the American Heart Association and Ronald McDonald House.
Senior Dylan Moore made his mark on numerous organizations within the high school and the community.
"Hopefully after recognizing students who have gone above and beyond for community service it will encourage other students to do the same. Follow in their example," said Zach Zamichow, Students in Action.
Moore donated the cash stipend he won to help pay Brianna Mullinger's medical bills.
Mullinger is recovering after being hit by a train last month.
