One day after the accident, the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the train collision that left one Springfield High School student dead and another in critical condition.
15-year old Freshman Cody Brown was killed, and 16-year old Brianna Mullinger was hurt, as they tried to beat a train across the tracks around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
NBC 24 News spoke neighbors and friends who says the word around school is Brown is being hailed as a hero for pushing Mullinger out of the way of the train.
Mullinger remains in critical condition this Thursday.
The incident is still under investigation.
All school activities will carry on as scheduled.
