Storm roughs up area in northeast Ohio

WARREN, Ohio (AP) - The National Weather Service says fierce thunderstorms that moved through northeast Ohio overnight cut an 18-mile path of damage in Trumbull County.

A tree fell through the roof of one home early Friday, while others lost portions of roof. County 911 dispatch center supervisor Dale Hahne (hahn) says numerous roads are closed because of downed trees and limbs.

Hahne says no injuries were reported.

FirstEnergy spokesman Mark Durbin said about 1,700 customers were without power Friday morning in the county about 45 miles southeast of Cleveland.

The weather service says areas closer to Cleveland were pelted overnight by hail about an inch in diameter.
