Stranger Danger reported in Findlay Wednesday

Just days into the new school year, Findlay Police are investigating a report of stranger danger.

Authorities say they were alerted to a report of a 12-year-old girl being approached by an unknown white male Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the area of S. West St. and W. Front St. The girl told police she was walking in the area when she noticed a van pull up behind her. A few seconds later, the suspect wrapped his arms around the girl's waist.

The girl was able to pull away from the suspect unharmed.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30's, with tattoos on his fingers near the knuckles. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model, white box-style cargo van with rust around the wheel well. There were no windows on the passenger side of the van except for on the front door. It is believed there were two rear cargo doors on the vehicle.
