Summer returns for the weekend
Fri, 25 Jul 2014 12:06:35 GMT —
We got into Goosebump Territory early Friday morning, within a degree or two of record lows for the date (Record @TOL: 50/1985). This Finally Friday will be very much like the past few as we kick-off another weekend with Comfort Indices Off the Charts!
Friday will be filled with sunshine, filtered at times by some high cirrus clouds this afternoon as highs get into the upper 70's.
The weekend offers a rare, but brief, return to weather that is more typical of what we see during the end of July... YES, a taste of summer with some heat and humidity will allow us to return to the pool after this latest chilly stretch. A warm front moves through overnight and will usher in mostly cloudy skies and a return of humidity. We'll see muggy, milder lows in the lower 60's by daybreak Saturday morning. The forecast is not perfect as we'll have to keep an eye to the sky at times Saturday morning and again during the afternoon as isolated showers and thunderstorms pop-up. Some of these storms could be on the strong side during the late afternoon and early evening. We'll see muggy and seasonable highs during the afternoon in the mid 80's.
The storms will fade Saturday night with a loss of daytime heating. Skies will become partly cloudy overnight with muggy lows near 70 degrees by daybreak Sunday morning. Another powerful cold front approaches Sunday afternoon and will offer rounds of widespread showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon with highs again getting into the mid 80's. Enjoy the warmth while you can!
Another dome of unseasonably cool, dry air invades Monday and kick-off another stretch of cool weather that will linger into the beginning of August.
To recap: sunshine & comfort on tap today; pool weather for the weekend with highs in the mid 80's, humidity and the threat of scattered showers and storms; turning relatively cool again Monday and for most of next week.
Have a great Finally Friday and weekend!
