The active weatyher pattern continues with big swings in comfort between now and the weekend. Scattered, mainly light showers with plenty of humidity stick around into the early afternoon hours as a frontal boundary approaches. Keep the umbrella handy, you will need it at times. As the front moves through during the mid-afternoon hours the showers and humidity are wisked off to the east and are replaced by high pressure which will deliver sunshine and comfort this afternoon with crisp high temps in the lower 80's.
Skies go mainly clear overnight and it will get a lot cooler than we've seen the past few days with seasonable lows in the upper 50's and lower 60's by sunrise Wednesday morning. Wednesday looks like the most comfortable day of this shortened work week offering mostly sunny skies, low humidity and highs in the mid 80's.
Humidity returns Thursday and we begin to warm things back up once again. Under partly cloudy skies we'll see muggy highs in the mid and upper 80's. Friday will be oppresively hot and humid, skies will become hazy during the afternoon hours, it will become very humid and highs get into the upper 80's with heat indices steaming into the 90's during the afternoon hours.
More changes are in store for the weekend as the thermal rollercoaster rolls on. I'll be anxoiusly monitoring a dynamic cold front, a real difference maker, that will be moving into the region late Friday. Behind this front is dramatically drier and cooler air. Whenever we see BIG changes in day to day temps there are good chances that we'll also see and eruption of potentially strong/severe storms. That could be the case Friday night and we'll keep you abreast of the latest developments here and on-air at NBC-24... stay Weather Alert late in the day Friday and into Saturday morning!
Behind the front is an airmass that will make the upcoming weekend very high on comfort. Right now it looks like lingering early morning showers give way to sunshine, low humidity and plenty of comfort for Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday with highs in the mid-70's... Chamber of Commerce weather for the weekend ahead!!!
Lots of changes in the coming days. I hope you can enjoy the taste of drier air moving in later. Stay tuned about the storm threat late Friday. Most importantly - make plans to get after it outside over the upcoming weekend!!!
