      Sunshine, comfort return Wednesday

High pressure slides into the region Wednesday and delivers plenty of sunshine, lower humidity values and seasonable temps.

Comfort returns, replacing the steam bath we endured Tuesday when we hit 90 degrees at Toledo Express Airport for just the second time this summer. As you know, it was a very humid day with Heat Indices getting into the mid-90's at mid afternoon. Whew...

      GET: Extended weather forecast

Sunshine and comfort are on tap Wednesday and Thursday. Skies will become partly cloudy this afternoon with pleasant highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Thursday looks even better as skies will be mostly sunny. After a chilly start, upper 50's, we will see highs topping out in the upper 70's with low humidity again! Better enjoy it while you can...

A warm front heads our way Friday and will bring usher in a warmer and more humid airmass for the upcoming holiday weekend. Friday will be partly cloudy with humid highs getting into the mid 80's. Saturday will be the warmest of the three day weekend and renew chances for showers and storms.

Skies will be partly cloudy Saturday with the possibility of a few isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the heat of the day/afternoon hours. It will be warm and humid with highs in the mid and upper 80's and warmer heat indices as dew points climb into the upper 60's.

The best chances for showers and storms arrive Sunday as a frontal boundary approaches. Skies will become mostly cloudy during the afternoon as scattered showers and storms develop. Due to more clouds and showers highs top out in the lower 80's Sunday afternoon.

Labor Day for the most part is looking good as we'll likely see a few showers early followed by clearing skies during the afternoon with highs near 80 degrees. We'll have a better handle on the timing of showers and storms as we get closer to the weekend but for now I will put it this way - the holiday weekend will not be a washout as we'll see hit and miss t'showers Saturday, scattered showers Sunday and spotty showers possible early on your Labor Day.

So, make your outdoor/honey do/picnic/grilling plans and be prepared to keep an eye to the sky and shift things around from time to time. More specific details come your way right here tomorrow and Friday.

Enjoy that crisp, comfortable sunshine these next two days when you can... see you on a local patio for lunch!
