      Suspect named in shooting of stray dog in east Toledo

      26-year-old Marcus Crawford is wanted for the shooting that shattered the dog's leg in eight different places.

      Toledo Police have identified a suspect in the Monday shooting of a German Shepherd in east Toledo.

      26-year-old Marcus Crawford is wanted for the alleged shooting that shattered the dog's leg in eight different places. His picture was posted Thursday on the Toledo Police Department's Facebook page. He is currently facing two felony charges, and 10 misdemeanor warrants are out for his arrest.

      The stray dog is expected to survive, but one of her legs will have to be amputated due to the injuries sustained from the shooting. The Lucas County Canine & Control Center has been taking care of the dog.

      Officials said the dog had been shot in the 900-block of Clark Street in front of an east Toledo home that belongs to Bill Rost. He had been caring for the dog ever since it showed up in his neighbor last weekend.The center is raising money through a Cuties Fund to pay for the dog??s amputation.Donations can be made in person, at their main office at 410 S. Erie, or online.
