Suspected killer of West Toledo woman still at large

On Sunday, October 13 Jordan Jones was fatally shot inside her West Toledo apartment. Jones' stepmother Blanca Romero learned the news a short time later. "It is the worst call you ever want to receive," Ms. Romero. The tragedy was compounded two days later when police issued an arrest warrant for Jones' ex-boyfriend Marquis Walker. "I've met this man, her father and I both met him at the same time," Ms. Romero said.

Jones and Walker had dated but Jones had recently ended the relationship. Police say that on the night of the murder Walker forced his way into Jones' apartment and after a brief argument shot her several times in the chest. Neighbors called police after hearing the gunfire. Jones was pronounced dead shortly after police arrived.

Romero hopes that if anyone sees Walker they will contact police. "I am hopeful he will be apprehended as soon as possible," Ms. Romero said.
