The Toledo Fire Department received a call of a house fire in the 3900-block of Hazelhurst Ave. at 4:43 a.m. Tuesday.
After arriving at the scene, fire officials saw light smoke and the walls within the home were on fire.
Arson investigators were called to the scene to search the home.
Lieutenant Joe Clark said the house was vacant.
Clark also said there could be several reasons why vacant homes in the area could be a target to arson, from a homeowner trying to get rid of the home, someone angry after being kicked out of a home, or insurance fraud.
